WHCR 90.3 FM Featured On NY1 [Video]

The City College of New York’s radio station, WHCR, has received a nearly $2 million makeover.

The renovations not only doubled the studio space at CCNY’s community radio station in Harlem, but also added state-of-the-art equipment.

Funding for the renovations came from Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer and former Borough President C. Virginia Fields.

In addition to benefiting the students, the renovations support the community volunteers who use the facilities for their own shows on 90.3 FM.

Musicians can now be seen because the station is now streaming live video on its website – allowing for more people to see and hear WHCR’s programming.

The station can mainly be heard in Upper Manhattan, river to river, from 59th to 181st streets. But, the station receives listener calls from the South Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and New Jersey.
